Family Arbit ration
Family Arbitration is an Alternative Dispute Resolution process, established under Supreme Court Rule 114, and agreed upon by the parties. It may be binding or non-binding, and is typically used for resolution of property or financial matters during a dissolution proceeding. The arbitrator is appointed to arbitrate specific issues, to be identified in a Court Order that specifically appoints the arbitrator by name. Parties have the right to present evidence and testimony during the process. A copy of the arbitrators agreement, includes fees, is available upon request.
